2019 was another year for Bollywood when some big movies failed to entertain while small movies were much loved and appreciated. The difference between critical and commercial success was there when a movie that seemed bad did magic on box office while the movie that looked deserving gained critically success but tanked at the box office.
Here I have got movies, some of which have got big commercial success but they lacked something and couldn’t make me spend my money and time on them.
Higlights
1. War.
I guess I wasn’t in the mood to watch just two handsome hunks doing action sequences with not much story or any other important characters. It surely is a movie you should watch on big screen but I am not that big of a fan of both the lead actors. I do like action but John Wick or Jackie Chan kind of.
2. Housefull 4.
I have watched Housefull 1 and 2… I skipped Housefull 3 and Housefull 4 didn’t seem to convince me to watch it.
3. Bharat.
It’s a movie for Salman Khan’s loyal fans and I am not one.
4. Total Dhamaal.
I liked Dhamaal and I didn’t like Dhamaal 2, and 3rd sequel just seemed to have so much going on that I decided to skip.
5. De De Pyar De.
I am a fan of Ajay Devgan, but I like his comedy only in Golmaal. It would be good to watch on TV some lazy day I guess.
6. The Zoya Factor.
The trailer just didn’t excite me enough to watch the movie. I am not a die hard big fan of Sonam Kapoor but Neerja was a good film.
7. Kalank.
When they made Alia Bhatt dance in a song instead of Madhuri Dixit, I decided to pass it. I might watch it on TV for Kunal Khemu and Madhuri Dixit.
8. Khandani Shafakhan.
Another film on a taboo subject for Indian audience with female lead. Badshaah is acting now and Varun Sharma is doing what he does in every film. I decided to just wait for it come on TV.
9. Pagalpanti.
I wanted to watch it for Saurabh Shukhla, Arshad Warsi and John Abraham but the crappy songs, and self announcing that it’s going to be nonsense film made me backout and watch it on TV.
10. Jabariya Jodi.
The trailer couldn’t convince me to spend my money on it. However the remake of Khadke Glassy song in the film did sound okay as compared to other Tanishk Bagchi’s remakes.
