REVIEW – Pati, Patni Aur Woh featuring Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar and Ananya Panday is another film of 2019 that I do not want to watch.

Bollywood is getting lazy in terms of concepts, and the upcoming film Pati, Patni Aur Woh is another example of it. Featuring youth’s heartthrob – Kartik Aaryan, tagged as a fine actress – Bhumi Pednekar and trolled for nepotism – Ananya Panday, this Bollywood movie does seem a one time watch and might make you laugh with the concept that has been used in countless films of Indian cinema.
What’s the story/concept?
A lead actor stuck in a situation (here he is stuck between two women) and his close friend is there to give him advice, make fun of him and make audiences laugh with their comic timing. It has been used in many films like – Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya, Ghar Wali Bahar Wali and Sajan Chale Sasural. The movie is an official remake of old movie of same title as well.
What are actors doing?
Bhumi Pednekar is playing Patni, now usually they show ‘patni’ character less glamorous and old fashioned, but here Bhumi is beating Ananya Panday in terms of glamour and sensuousness. Since Bhumi has played non-glamorous roles often, filmmakers decided to cash in by showing Bhumi in more glamorous and never seen before avatar.
Kartik Aryan is doing what he has done in his past films. Its nothing new and he again has some long dialogues to catch his fans’ attention.
Ananya Panday is shown to be playing more confident and smart girl as the third wheel in this triangle.
Aparshakti Khurana is that one friend in the movie who always steals the show, weather it was Murari of Ranjhana or Pappi Tiwari in Tanu Weds Manu, they always have the best lines to say in a movie.
Music/songs.
The movie does have two original tracks – Dilbara and Tu Hi Yaar Mera but have been overshadowed by bad remixes of Dheeme Dheeme and Ankhiyon Se Goli Maare.
Screenplay.
The movie is following the formula of many small budget movies which have been a hit with the audience in past couple of years. Instead of going poor or very rich, Bollywood now has a new trending thing called ‘middle class family’ stories.
So if you have been a fan of Masan, Haramkhor, Aankho Dekhi and Gali Guleiyan then Pati, Patni Aur Woh is not a movie for you.
